Welcome to my ninth Book Beginnings/ The Friday 56 post! These are two seperate tags but I’ve decided to do them in one!
Let’s get started!
The king had never known the warm kiss of the sun. Still, he stood at the edge of his ship, forearms resting on the damp wooden rail, face lifted towards the sky. Those golden rays were the stuff of songs.
The entire first chapter of this book was a win for me, to be honest. Lots of action and best of all: dragons!
The Friday 56:\
His phantom fingers curled into a fist, holding all his anger, keeping out of sight. Sometimes he liked to believe that was what had happened – not that he lacked a limb, but that all his hate and fury and pain were balled into a fist so tight, he couldn’t undo it.
I’ve got to admit; this is probably the first time I’ve read a book where one of the main characters has only one arm.
And so far, I really think Xander is an underrated character.
Link your own Book Beginnings/ The Friday 56 down below? From what I’ve mentioned above, would you want to read The Raven and Dove?
Till we meet again!
