Welcome back, Darling Readers!
When Mr. Bilbo Baggins of Bag End announced that he would shortly be celebrating his eleventy-first birthday with a party of special magnificence, there was much talk and excitement in Hobbiton.
This writing is so whimsical; it makes the book feel like a fairytale!
The Friday 56:
‘Still,’ he said, standing suddenly up and sticking out his chin, while his beard went stiff and straight like a bristling wire, ‘we must keep up our courage. You will soon be well, if I do not talk you to death. You are in Rivendell, and you need not worry about anything for the present.’
There is such a difference between old and modern writing. I love old writing, it always gives me the feeling that I’m not in the present anymore. But I love modern writing as well, the way authors describe things differently.
