Let’s Talk About It: A Court Of Silver Flames

Okay. So.

I’m in the minority that actually likes the new covers.

Yes, there, I said it, you can come after me with your pitchforks and torches, but that’s the truth. I had very little love for the old covers, apart from the fact that I liked their detail, so these new covers are welcome for me!

I also think this hate has something to do with the new book not going to match the previous three books that people have already bought, and to be honest, my perfectionistic little bookstagrammer heart agrees.

But that’s not enough for me to hate this cover.

Now, let’s talk about what this new book is about.

I’ll be honest again: I have no love for Nesta. I absolutely hate her. Yes, I understand she went through terrible things, but so did Feyre and Elain, and her behaviour is at times infuriating. At least here, I know I’m not in the minority.

That being said, I felt this way about Chaol too. And look at what SJM did with Tower of Dawn (btw, another book in the series that definitely did not match with the other covers in the TOG series)…she made me love Chaol. She redeemed an irredeemable character for me.

So, to sum up this post: I have hope for Nesta. I still don’t like her and Cassian deserves much, much better, but I have faith in SJM.

(Please don’t fail me, SJM, please please please)

That’s it!

I think I want to do more of these random Let’s Talk About It posts, just whenever I want to talk about something, so don’t be confused if you see another one in the future!

I mentioned it previously, but I’ve recently hit a 100 followers on my blog! Should a do a Q & A?

Tell me all your thoughts and opinions in the comments, unpopular or not, I still wanna hear them!

Till we meet again!
Xx Alexia

  1. I heard this book was coming out! I don’t have any strong opinions on it, but you did point out some interesting things.

I also don’t like Nesta. Even if she has a redemption arc I will remember that she deflected her pain onto others over and over.

That being said, I’m not even sure I want to continue with this series! To me it felt like the story was over before the last bool/(novella?), and I usually like SJM books early in the series and start to like them less when the focus is on the romance. But who know? I’ll have to watch for the reviews!

    1. Same here! It really felt like everything was wrapped up nicely in ACOWAR, so I’m just going to view A Court of Silver Flames as an entirely new series on its own! πŸ™ˆI might not read it immediately after it comes out, but I’ll definitely read it sometime!

  2. First of all “Congrats!!!”! A 100 followers is huge! ❀
As for the cover: I'm undecided whether I like it or not. I don't like the colours but I kinda like the idea of an interwoven cover?! Storywise I'm with you! I hate Nesta but I have faith that Sarah will do her best to make her more likable or at least relatable. *lol* I still hope that one of those books will be about Lucien! I want a book about him so terribly. XD

  3. I’m happy you like this cover, I really don’t. I agree with the fact that one of my main grief is caused by the fact that these new covers will not match the previous ones, and honestly, I don’t even want to buy this book just for that. But also because I really loved the original covers and actually they are part of my all-time favourite ones.

    1. I totally understand your perspective! There are some popular covers that I don’t like, so I guess we’ve all got our own preferencesπŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚but thank you for disagreeing so respectfully with me! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’›
