First Line Friday (pt.4)

We’re in the first week of August! My prelim-exams start in like three weeks and I’m really nervous, but also so excited because it means my school year is almost over!

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?  If you want to make your own post, feel free to use or edit the banner above, and follow the rules below:

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first.
  • Finally… reveal the book!

If you’re using Twitter, don’t forget to use #FirstLinesFridays!

The Line

You might think that he could have made up his mind earlier, and been man enough to tell the others of his decision. But Allan Karlsson had never been given to pondering things too long.

The Hints

The cover of this book is blue, black and white.

This novel is written by a Swedish author and was translated into English.

The title is very long and describes the novel perfectly.

Have you gotten it yet?

The Reveal

The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared eBook by Jonas Jonasson - 9780349141817 | Rakuten Kobo South Africa

I read half of this book a few months ago then never continued…

Maybe it’s time to finish this book?

That’s it!

Did you guess correctly?

Till we meet again!
Xx Alexia
